Our Partners
The Pink Triangle Legacies Project regularly co-organizes events with a variety of organizations to bring this history and its lessons to communities.
We also establish strategic partnerships with institutions across the United States to support LGBTQ+ communities and our allies in preserving LGBTQ+ history and fighting homophobia and transphobia today.

Public History Internship Partners
The Pink Triangle Legacies Project partners with educational organizations to offer Public History Internships. Each year, the partner sponsors a student or someone from their community to work with the PTL Project. The partner's sponsorship guarantees financial compensation for the intern in addition to providing local support where necessary. The Public History Internship equips the intern with the skills and resources to document and present the history of the Nazis’ LGBTQ+ victims. Public History Interns develop resources that make this history free and accessible to diverse audiences in and beyond the classroom, including social media, digital essays, handouts, and YouTube videos.
The Zucker/Goldberg Center for Holocaust Studies at the College of Charleston is dedicated to the provision of learning opportunities for students at the College of Charleston, community members in the South Carolina Lowcountry, and to interested individuals worldwide through virtual resources. The Zucker/Goldberg Center and the PTL Project established their Public History Internship program in January 2024.

“This is a great opportunity for our students,” said Prof. Chad Gibbs, Director of the Zucker/Goldberg Center. “We want to provide more chances for them to develop public history skills. Research on LGBTQ+ people during the Holocaust is a topic that resonates with my students, and this partnership opens new ways for them to dive deeper into the history while also supporting the work of the Pink Triangle Legacies Project.”

To date, the PTL Project's partnership with the Zucker/Goldberg Center has funded two Public History Interns: Natalie Peyton and Gabby Perales.
The Reiff Center for Human Rights and Conflict Resolution at Christopher Newport University is dedicated to raising awareness of the horrors of genocide, human rights violations and conflict; and studying ways to overcome these by examining the international and national application of human rights, conflict resolution and peace studies. The Reiff Center and the PTL Project established their Public History Internship program in January 2025.

“I am thrilled that Reiff Center students will have the opportunity to engage with the Pink Triangle Legacies Project,” said Dr. Francesca Parente, director of CNU’s Reiff Center. “We loved hosting Dr. Newsome for a successful event related to his book and are excited to further our partnership. Students will have the chance to gain hands-on experience in research and public history on an important topic, in a way that also allows them to develop and improve skills in writing and multimedia production”

To date, the PTL Project's partnership with the Reiff Center has funded one Public History Intern: Sam Ellyson.
